Danny Gouin
Prior to coming to WBGC, Danny served as the Program Director at Stamford Police Activities League (PAL) for almost two years. Prior to Stamford PAL, Danny spent many years teaching physical education and coaching in Chicago and Connecticut. Twenty-four of those years were at King School in North Stamford holding a variety of positions from Physical Education Teacher to Assistant Director of Athletics, Director of Physical Education, Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and Athletic Recruiting Liaison to College Counseling. Danny has experience coaching numerous sports including football, baseball, softball, boys’ and girls’ lacrosse, basketball and fitness. Danny is proud of the number of student-athletes he guided through the recruiting process to play at Division I, IAA, II, III; Ivy League, NESCAC, ACC, PAC 12, Big Ten colleges and universities, with four former players ultimately being drafted/signed by NFL teams.
Danny played football at Springfield College before transferring to Southern Connecticut State University where he graduated with a B.S. in Human Performance.
Throughout his career, Danny has been recognized with numerous honors including: 2023 Stamford Old Timers’ Athletic Association Emeritus Lifetime Achievement Award, 2023 King School Viking Service Award, 2017 Stamford Old Timers’ Athletic Association Coach of the Year, and 2010 US Lacrosse Man of the Year. In his tenure as King School Varsity Head Football Coach his teams brought home three FAA League Championships, four Nutmeg Division Championships, three New England Preparatory School Runner up titles and two New England Preparatory School Championships.
Outside of Wakeman BGC, Danny enjoys spending time with his wife, three sons, grandson and three golden retrievers.
