March 4: Priority registration for returning players
April 1: Open Registration Begins
July 31: Pre-season conditioning starts
First Week of August : First official practice
September 2 or 3: Tentative First game
October 28-29: Tentative Playoffs

Wakeman Boys & Girls Club is excited to begin the fourth year of its Cowboys Tackle Football Program, which participates in the Fairfield County Football League. This year we will continue to enhance the program with new coaches and an incentive program!
- To be eligible to play, participants must be in grades 4-8 in September 2024 and reside in or attend school in Bridgeport
- Season starts the first week in August with weekly games held September- November
- Practice will be held at the Cal Ripken Field (141 Ocean Terrace) and Kennedy Stadium in Bridgeport
- Players will participate in 2-3 weekly practices
- Since Academic Success is a key priority area for Wakeman Boys & Girls Club, we will be hiring a tutor to work with all players on non-practice days.
- Registration for the 2024 season opens Monday, March 4 for returning players and Monday, April 1 for the general public.
- At time of registration, please be prepared to submit player's birth certificate, most recent report card, and proof of a physical completed in the last 13 months.
2024 Fees:
Football Program Fee: $150*
Membership Fee: $165*
Players will be provided with all equipment needed.
*All Football Program participants must have an active Club membership. Memberships are valid for one year from date of purchase and provide access to other fee-based programs, leagues and classes including basketball, after school & vacation day programs, and summer camps. If players currently hold a valid Club membership, another membership fee will not be collected until their annual renewal date. Fees are not refundable.
