Torch Club & FLOW

Torch Club & Future Leaders of Wakeman (FLOW) are powerful programs through which members in grades 5-8 develop their leadership skills, community service involvement, and teamwork. These clubs also prepare members to participate in Keystone Club, our premier teen program for high schoolers which further builds on leadership development through community outreach.

Congrats to our 2021-22 Southport Clubhouse Torch Club for being awarded 3rd place in the national Boys & Girls Clubs of America Building CommUNITY Project for the second consecutive year!

Future Leaders of Wakeman Club (FLOW):

Grades 5-6

Location: Southport Clubhouse

Future Leaders is a new service program at the Southport Clubhouse through which 5th-6th graders begin to develop and strengthen their community service involvement, leadership and teamwork while exploring their interest in helping others and curiosity about the world where they live.

In the spirit of the Southport Clubhouse’s nationally recognized and award-winning Torch Club (7th-8th grade) and nationally recognized and award-winning Keystone Club (9th-12th grade), Future Leaders Club will work together to implement projects focusing on education, fitness and community. Members will take turns managing meetings and activities. Participation fee includes a shirt.

Future Leaders Club members will complete a practice online application at their first meeting. Members will attend 1 meeting a month, typically on Tuesdays from 6:15-7:15 and will work on service projects at meetings. Fun community service opportunities to do at home will also be promoted. This program runs from November to May.
