Under the Sea-Mixed Media Art for Kids
Grades: K-2
Fee: Free for Members, Bring a Guest $10
Date: Thursday, March 28 from 6:30-8:00pm
Location: Southport Clubhouse
This fun ocean themed class will have young artists take a journey through the sea to learn about sea life and create artwork using mixed media to create 2 different projects. Snacks included.
Digital Playground: The Power of Code
Grades: 3-5
Fee: Free for Members
Date: Mondays, February 26 – April 1, 6:45-7:45pm
Location: Southport Clubhouse
Led by our Apple educators, members follow interactive lessons on the Club’s Apple ipads to learn key coding concepts and creative challenges will encourage members to learn code and skills to build confidence, creativity and problem solving.
We Create: Apple Digital Arts Night
Grades: 3-5

Date: Friday, February 2 from 7:00-8:15pm
Location: Southport Clubhouse
Create a masterpiece in digital art alongside our Apple educators and be ready to enter the BGCA National Art Contest! Our Apple lab and Apple trained WBGC staff are ready to provide members an opportunity to explore and learn more about Apple programming and iPad productivity and creativity suite. Snack included. Limited class size.
Apple Creates
Grades: 3-5
Fee: Free for Members
Date: Mondays, February 26 – April 1, 5:30pm-6:30pm
Location: Southport Clubhouse
Come explore the power and versatility of the Apple iPad with our Apple educators. Create and learn how to make music, art and much more!! You will be surprised at how much the iPad can create with your imagination! Take your skills to a whole new level and make your technology productive. Limited class size
Swift Friendship Bracelet Night
Grades: 3-5
Fee: Free for members. Bring a non-member guest for $10.
Dates: Fridays, January 26 and March 1, 6:30pm-8:00pm
Location: Southport Clubhouse
We are hosting TWO amazingly fun Swift (as in Taylor) Bracelet Nights! Members in Grades 3-5 are invited to come to the clubhouse from 6:30-8:00PMt – create friendship bracelets, dress in sparkles or your favorite Era, trade bracelets, listen to the coolest music and enjoy Taylor-inspired snacks! Swifties or future Swifties can choose one or both nights. Pre-registration is required.
National Arts Exhibit
Grades K-12
Fee: Free (Members Only)
Submit artwork January 5 to February 1, 2024*
Exhibit: On display in late February
Each year we showcase artistic talents of members in conjunction with Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Fine Arts Exhibit. The exhibit is a program designed to promote creativity using various media and to encourage artistic skills and cultural enrichment. Each year, more than 200 pieces of artwork are submitted by young artists. Last year, WBGC had a National Winner! Any artwork created by a Club member in 2023 in school or the Club may be entered into our Clubhouse exhibit.
