Trunk or Treat Celebrated at Smilow-Burroughs Clubhouse
A Cat, Witch & a Pirate Walk Into Wakeman...
The Smilow-Burroughs Clubhouse held its fifth annual Trunk or Treat party for the community on Halloween night. The Clubhouse, located on Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport, coordinated with various community partners to provide a fun and safe atmosphere for nearly 225 kids and their families to trick or treat among parked decorated cars in the Club’s rear parking lot from 5:00-6:00pm.
Partners include the Sacred Heart University’s Exercise Science Club, Fairfield University’s Play Like a Girl Club, Fairfield Ludlowe’s Girls Soccer Team, Scholar Athletes Serving Others - a Fairfield mother/son teen service group, and other Black Rock community neighbors. Each partner group decorated their cars, dressed up and passed out candy from their car trunks to visiting kids.
“Trunk or Treat was a great time for children and their families to come together with their community to get dressed up, celebrate the holiday and be outdoors in a safe way,” said Senior Program Director Ruben Goodwin. “We're so grateful for all the friends of Wakeman who jumped in to make it a great celebration!”
