Wakeman Boys & Girls Club’s annual operating budget is $2.3 million.
Over 60%, $1.3 million, comes from individual contributions,
grants and special events that must be raised each year.
 
Chairman’s Circle Members are area leaders whose annual gifts of $2,500 or more have a direct impact on the quality of life of our members and their future success in our global society. Corporate Matching Gifts

Many employers will match charitable contributions to Wakeman Boys & Girls Club. These matching gifts can double or sometimes even triple your donation to Wakeman! Contact your Human Resources Department for details; it is usually a very easy process with just one form to complete. Clothing Bins

Have some shoes and clothes your favorite Wakeman member has outgrown? Thanks to a partnership with locally owned Fairco Recycling, LLC you can now drop those items into recycling bins around Fairfield and surrounding towns! Your clothing and shoe donations will support Wakeman's scholarship fund for Club members. 

Did you know that 12 million tons of discarded clothing and fabrics are sent to U.S. landfills each year? So not only are you supporting Wakeman's scholarship fund, but you are also putting clothing back in the use cycle to help conserve precious natural resources, prevent greenhouse gas emissions, and save landfill space. 

Businesses that host a clothing bin are paid $100/month! If you are a local business owner interested in hosting a clothing bin, please contact Kait Tremaglio at kait@wakemanclub.org or 203-908-3381 to learn more.

Drop your old clothes, shoes, sheets, and towels in the clothing bins located at our Southport and Smilow-Burroughs Clubhouses or at any of the bin locations. 
Donate a Truck or R/V

Did you know that you can donate a car, a truck, an RV......just about anything with a motor to Wakeman Boys & Girls Club?!
 
While your donation will not be used in programming in any way we have a partner that will handle all the necessary arrangements with you to come and pick up your donation within a couple days of you contacting them. They will then sell your item at auction and the proceeds are donated to Wakeman! A month or so later you will receive a letter from them alerting you to the amount that the item was sold for.....this would be your tax deduction. You can choose to direct your donation to a particular Clubhouse if you like or we will use it where it is most needed depending upon our other fundraising efforts.

Running for Wakeman

Lace up your sneakers and run for Wakeman! This is a fun and easy way to help raise money for the Club and share with friends and family why Wakeman is important to you! Simply sign up for your favorite fitness activity – a road race, triathlon, swim-a-thon, or bike race – and start fundraising for Wakeman online. Neighborhood Assistance Act

Calling all companies!!  September is the time to give to Wakeman and earn a 100% state tax credit!
Each year, Wakeman applies to the State of CT’s Neighborhood Assistance Act Program. 
In August 2017, Wakeman received word from Hartford that we are approved to take part in the 2017 Neighborhood Assistance Act program. This means companies that are C or S corporations paying taxes to the state of CT receive a 100% state tax credit for their donation to specific Wakeman programs.

Wakeman Programs Approved for the NAA Program:
Smilow-Burroughs Clubhouse Energy Efficient Updates (Cost: $3,400): Businesses supporting this program receive a 100% Tax Credit.

Southport Clubhouse Energy Efficient Upgrades (Cost: $26,066.00): Businesses supporting this program receive a 100% Tax Credit.

Completing & Submitting The Application:
Businesses must complete and send applications to Hartford between September 15, 2017 and October 2, 2017.  Businesses can support all or any amount of program costs.
