Sports, Fitness, and Recreation programs help develop fitness, a positive use of leisure time, reduction of stress, appreciation for the environment and social and interpersonal skills. The Southport Clubhouse offers a variety of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation programs throughout the year.
In a partnership with Marcy’s Tennis Academy, a well-established tennis management company, we are offering two 6 week sessions after school program this fall. This tennis program uses features from the USTA’s 10 and Under Tennis program. With 10 and Under Tennis, balls bounce lower, don’t move as fast through the air and are easier to hit. Tennis racquets are sized for small hands, and courts are smaller and easier to cover. By using this format, the benefits are immediate, and within a short time kids are rallying, playing games, and wanting to play even more tennis. This means kids will have more fun and less frustration. A tennis pro will be provided by Marcy to instruct the children.
